Sea Turtle Nesting and Hatchings at "The Breakers" in Redington Beach, Florida July 30, 2007

The baby turtles hatched sometime between 12:00am and 6:30am. The volunteer from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium showed up very quickly after we called.

The official count was 96. There may be a few more that will hatch in another day or so.

The volunteer put them in the container so she could get an accurate count and then brought them to the edge of the water and placed each one by hand on the edge of the surf to begin their journey. Good Luck Turtles!
